Afternoon all!
There has been an enormous amount of feedback since we've decided to shut down the forum section from many, many people. From our friends over at WHA contacting us to the enormous amount of support and thanks given to us by Community members, we honestly didn't expect so many people to be so vocally upset about the decision we made!
The day has come and we on Staff here at Only-WAR have made our final decision for the site, and unfortunately it's time to upset people again.
We've decided after much internal discussion and taking into account all of the fantastic supportive and encouraging emails from the normal, adult and mature people in the community to just close up shop for now.
The reason? Simply put, we just want to spend our time IN the game, enjoying it completely and fully. We didn't shut down the day the game came out like other places, we kept it going for 6 months after release like we said we would do, and we evaluated things with the site, the community and with the state of the game 6 months out the way we always said we would, and this is the conclusion we have come to. Now, we know people will make up whatever reasons they need to make up so they can sleep better at night, but those that are normal, adult, honest human beings will know better.
Will we open back up? Possibly. But right now, it's not something we feel is needed. We want to focus on playing and enjoying the game, finally after all these years of focusing on the site.
We want to personally Thank :
Mark for the great conversations and phone calls! Jeff and Paul for the great interviews and just the conversations - conference calls will never be the same again! Spyke for being oh so completely awesome to us at every convention we had Staff ambush him at! Steve Perk-dawg for the support from the very first day all those years ago! Sanya for the fun and talks back in the day - what a dinner party in Virginia! Richard for being the original go-to guy and setting up that great trip to VA! Carrie for talking ToK ideas with us and even implimenting a ton of them! We'll always be a part of W.A.R. because of that. =) Adam for talking careers with us all through that insanely huge dinner! Destin for being fantastic at the FanSite meet and fielding ALL of Ked's questions when no one else had any! James for jumping right in and keeping us in mind for everything possible! Magnus at GOA for just being...awesome. That's the best word to describe all of the things Magnus has done for us. IainC at GOA for being incredible and establishing contact and interaction so early on! ....and everyone else at Mythic that we may have missed naming...we hate to name because someone always gets missed and hurt, but we had to make special mention due to the over the top way the above went out of their way for us over the years!
Ghraz and the Blagtoof for helping us out so much over the years with everything from modding the insanity when we couldn't be here to (especially!) having the site contact listed under your names so my wife and kids and I didn't have to ever deal with the crazy internet stalkers - and there were alot of them! You guys are braver than I!!
And of course, most importantly, we want to thank all of YOU for making Only-WAR your home for all things W.A.R.! Without you guys, we would have never established ourselves as we did back in 2003 and we really appreciate everything everyone has done.
Now, what's to happen next with our staff, you may ask?
Ghrazsnik, Karhak and Raelimar are all still kicking ass and taking names (screenshots?) in W.A.R. with The Blagtoof WarTribe / PhM and Ghraz even went and redid their entire site. Stunning! They never fail to impress! GRATS ON THE BECKETT MAGAZINE! Ked and I will simply go into the game and enjoy ourselves. And no, we don't use any recognizable names in game. So anyone claiming to be either of us simply isn't us. We enjoy being low profile right down to anonymous character names. Sorry! ;)
Again, thank you all for everything and we'll see you all very soon!! ;)

Greetings! Another round of our Free Character Transfers has started! Players of the following servers are now able to login to the Mythic Account Center and begin transfer of their characters. Please be sure to read all instructions carefully! There are cases where you may lose items if you do not properly prepare your character for transfer. This also applies to the Guild Transfer functionality. Source Servers To Destination Servers Phoenix Throne (RP) Ostermark Vortex (Core) Server Population Bonuses - All Destination Servers To help welcome players to their new homes and make the transfers easier for everyone, all players on the Destination servers above will receive an extra 20% experience and renown for limited time! Players with a character conflict of having characters on opposing realms on Ostermark and Phoenix Throne need not worry. For a limited time, players with character conflicts will be able to transfer characters off of the Phoenix Throne (RP) server to the Vortex (Core) server. This will be available until Friday, April 3rd 6:00 PM EDT. Update 5:00 PM EDT - Transfers from Phoenix Throne to Vortex have been reenabled. Update 1:30 PM EDT - We are temporarily disabling transfers from Phoenix Throne to Vortex to address a technical issue. We anticipate that these transfers will be reenabled no later than 5:00 PM EDT. Thank you for your patience. Enjoy your new homes…WAAAGH!!! Free Character Transfer FAQ Q: Why did my Character Transfer not go through when the website said my Character Transfer Request was complete? A: Please check the Transfer Status and click on “More Info” for an explanation. This may be due to the following reasons: - The character was logged on at the same time the service attempted a transfer.
- You already have a character of an opposing realm on the destination server. If this is the case, please take advantage of our free transfer to the Vortex server for character conflicts.
- Your character may have a duplicate name as another character on the destination server.
Q: I did not get prompted to fill in a new name for my character, but the website says it failed due to the name already in use. A: Players must log in their character on the Destination server in order for the name to be updated, so it may be another player has moved a character with the same name over, but has not yet logged into that character on the new server. Q: Some of my characters aren’t showing up as an option to Transfer but I know they are on the server. A: This may be because the character has not been logged on for a very long time. Please physically log the character into the game, and then try your transfer again. Q: How will I know when my character transfer is complete? A: You can either view your Transfer Status on the Account Management website https://accounts.eamythic.com/ or you may wait for an email confirmation. An email will be sent to the address provided in your account center to provide the status of your transfer automatically.
